John R. Dufour Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the prestigious 2012 John R. Dufour Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, named after John R. Dufour, who exemplified the very essence of this award, is given to only the most deserving candidates. Criteria for the John R. Dufour Lifetime Achievement Award include:
- Dedication
- Professionalism
- Integrity
- Leadership
- Extended service to VHSMP
- Involvement and Leadership with other related organizations
- Minimum of 10 years in the hospitality industry
- Member of VHSMP in good standing
Nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee and will be presented at an event next spring. Nomination forms should be completed with your nominee selection and returned by January 13, 2012.

2011 John R. Dufour Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

The Virginia Association of Hospitality Sales and Meeting Professionals has announced Rick Eisenman as the recipient of the 2011 John R. Dufour Lifetime Achievement Award.
Eisenman is the President & CEO of Eisenman & Associates, an association management firm. He has over 25 years experience in the hospitality industry and has dedicated many talents to the success of VHSMP. He currently acts as the Executive Vice President for the association. Nominated by his peers as a recognized and respected professional in the hospitality industry, Eisenman was chosen to receive this award by the VHSMP Board of Directors. The Lifetime Professional Achievement Award was presented to a surprised Eisenman on March 25, 2011 at the VHSMP Annual Conference lunch in the presence of his colleagues, friends, and family.
The inaugural Lifetime Professional Achievement Award was presented at the 2004 Annual Conference. As John Dufour so exemplified the very essence of this award, the award presented was then named the John R. Dufour Lifetime Professional Achievement Award. Given the high standards this award was founded on, presentations of this award will only be given to the most deserving candidates and may or may not be given on an annual basis. Criteria for the award includes but is not limited to, a minimum of 10 years in the hospitality industry, involvement and leadership with other related organizations, as well as displays of professionalism, integrity, and dedication. The recipient must also be a member of VHSMP in good standing.
